PHO Webinar: Supporting Infant Sleep A Suite of Tools for Public Health Nurses
This webinar will introduce a suite of resources developed to support public health nurses in Ontario’s home visiting programs in helping families promote healthy infant sleep.
The presentation will include two client-facing handouts on age-specific sleep expectations, two optional sleep strategies, and three professional practice documents on understanding, assessing, and intervening in infant sleep health. A tool to help families track their daily routines will also be introduced.
Suggested interventions will be linked to existing resources used in home visiting programs, such as Partners in Parenting Education (PIPE) and Keys to Infant Caregiving.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Describe normal expectations regarding infant sleep.
• Identify professional resources and tools to guide client assessment, intervention, and evaluation regarding their perceived sleep concerns.
• Define how to implement the Sleep, Feed, and Play Tracker into their practice when applicable.
