Magnesium is one of the most popular ‘sleep solution’ supplements – but does it actually work?

I could just dive in there with ‘the answer’ and feel free to jump to 07:26 to skip over all the background science, but I do think it’s really important!
In summary, you’re most likely to benefit if you’re magnesium deficient – but finding out if you’re low in Mg is harder than you think. If you have a less than healthy diet, or you’re under stress, or you’re post retirement, or menopausal or do loads of exercise, or live with a chronic condition.. speak to your doctor about whether a magnesium supplement could be right for you.
The benefit in terms of sleep though, will probably be pretty small.. I know I’m biased but I think you’ll probably get more from behavioural changes.
