Summary:
Thinking about upgrading to the Eight Sleep Pod 4? Here’s the breakdown: For first-time buyers, the Pod 4 is a no-brainer. It offers improved comfort, quieter operation, and the new tappable zone feature for quick adjustments without your phone. If you’re debating between the Pod 3 and Pod 4 as a first-time purchase, the extra $154 for the Pod 4 is absolutely worth it.
For current Pod 2 or Pod 3 owners, the decision is a bit more complex. The Pod 4 is definitely quieter during maintenance, but still just as loud as earlier models when actively heating or cooling. Its comfort upgrades are incremental—better than the Pod 3, but not a game-changer like the jump from Pod 2 to Pod 3 was. The tappable zones, however, are a major usability improvement, making it easier to adjust settings without reaching for your phone.
The biggest potential upgrade is durability. Eight Sleep replaced the older water mat system with tubing, which could resolve the leaking issues seen in previous Pods. After seven months, I’ve had no leaks, but only time will tell if this holds true long-term.

Disclosure
Three years ago, I didn’t have a relationship with Eight Sleep when I made my original Eight Sleep video. I was just a happy customer. Eventually, Eight Sleep reached out because they liked my review and wanted me to join their official affiliate program.
I joined their program under a few conditions:
* I won’t accept free products and will continue to buy all products for this blog.
* I won’t change or tweak content to their liking.
* I don’t work with Eight Sleep to optimize my sales or have any of my content used in their social campaigns.
Basically, I bought three covers with my money and provided reviews as unbiasedly as possible and Eight Sleep cuts me a check if people buy through my link. In a perfect world, I’d have no relationship with Eight Sleep, but this allowed me to provide free content while still keeping this channel alive. They’ve provided me with a $200 off discount code, but there’s nothing special with my discount specifically—it can be from thousands of other sites with a quick Google search. I won’t be offended if you don’t use mine, but I always appreciate all my subscribers who do.
